What Should I Expect From Immigration Services?

When you come for your immigration exam, you must have certain documents with you, and various tests/immunizations may be given. The types of tests and immunizations required can depend on factors, such as age or pregnancy. Women who are pregnant cannot receive specific live vaccines. If you are pregnant, please bring a letter from your OB/GYN confirming your pregnancy status.

All individuals receiving an immigration exam will require the following documents:

  • I-693 paperwork
  • Official immunization record
  • Valid government-issued picture ID (driver's license, passport)

If you do not have proof of immunizations, you will be required to receive all necessary vaccinations at the time of the appointment. During the immigration exam, you will need a TB (tuberculosis) skin test. We cannot perform a TB skin test on anyone who has had a live vaccine or previous TB skin test within the last 30 days. These vaccinations may include MMR or varicella. If you have had a skin test recently or any other vaccines, you must wait 30 days for your immigration physical. If you have had a positive TB skin test in the past, we will need documentation, including the date it was placed, read, and the size of the reaction. The TB skin test must be set again if we do not receive this information.

Requirements:

  • Birth to 17 years: Up to date on immunizations
  • 18 – 64 years: MMR (if born after 1957), Tdap vaccine, and varicella vaccine or history of varicella illness
  • 65 and older: Pneumococcal vaccine, Tdap vaccine, and varicella vaccine or history of varicella illness

Additional requirements:

  • Everyone aged six months to 18 years and 50 years and older is required to have an influenza vaccine during the flu season
  • Children over the age of two are required to have a blood test for TB
  • Applicants over the age of 15 are required to have a gonorrhea urine test and a syphilis test

About Us
What do immigration services involve?

At Sunshine Medical & Wellness Center, the immigration physical consists of several components. These include a review of your medical history, a physical examination, blood tests, and vaccinations. Our healthcare professionals ensure the process adheres to the requirements set by USCIS, providing a comprehensive and compliant evaluation.

How long does the process take and when will I receive my results?

The duration of the immigration physical process varies, but typically it can be completed in one visit. However, additional visits may be necessary if further tests or vaccines are required. At Sunshine Medical & Wellness Center, results are usually ready within a week after the examination, ensuring a timely submission to USCIS.

What should I bring to my immigration physical appointment?

For your immigration physical at Sunshine Medical & Wellness Center, it's important to bring several items: government-issued photo ID, vaccination records, Form I-693 (Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record), and any medical records related to chronic conditions or previous treatments. This helps ensure a smooth and efficient examination process.
